Almere - Knights, ladies, romance and sword fights. That's what most people think when they see the ruins of an medieval castle. Almere castle is different. It was founded in 1999, but never completed. Today it's a modern ruine.

The 13th century Chateau Jemeppe in Belgium served as model. A robust and romantic castle in the Ardennes.
