Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht owes its name to the convent where the museum was previously established. Since 1995 the Bonnefantenmuseum is located in a modern and striking building on the riverbank of the Meuse.
The collection of the museum is a blend of old art and contemporary art: silverware from Maastricht, religious objects from Western Europe Dutch, paintings from 1475 - 1625 (with for example work from Brueghel).
The contemporary art section has installations and work from i.e. Nitsch, Tapies and Andy Warhol.
