The Dutch Wadden Islands. There are five and a multitude of smaller islands, including Noorderhaaks. The little Noorderhaaks island is also know as the Raging Ball.
Noorderhaaks is the first in a series of fifty islands in the Wadden Sea that stretches from Den Helder in the Netherlands, past the great river estuaries of Germany to its northern boundary at Skallingen north of Esbjerg in Denmark along a total length 500 km and a total area of about 10,000 km2.
Due to currents and winds Noorderhaaks is slowly moving towards Texel. Its shape is changing constantly. The little Island can move up to 100 meters a year.
Visiting the island is possible, but difficult as you need your own vessel. Mudflat hiking to the island is not possible.
