The spectacular Ocean in Burgers Zoo
Arnhem
Visit the Bush, Desert, Rimba and Ocean
Arnhem - Burgers' Zoo is one of the finest zoos in the Netherlands. The Bush (a large tropical rainforest), the Desert (a North American desert as you can find in Arizona) and the spectacular Ocean (a huge aquarium containing 8 million liters of seawater, which includes sharks and rays) are all covered which makes the park also great during a cold winter or a rainy day.
Discovery journey
Burgers' Zoo is no less than 45 hectares in size. What makes this zoo so special is that you walk from one ecosystem to another. You are in the vegetation and humid heat of the tropical rainforest, and a little later you are in the middle of a rock desert like you find in Arizona. There is a huge coral reef with a beautiful underwater world, an East African savanna with large animals such as giraffes, rhinoceroses and birds of prey and there is the Rimba, a Malay rainforest. Also special are the Mangroves, based on the nature reserve in Belize. Here you can see manatees, crabs and butterflies. At the Koninklijke Burgers' Zoo animal park you really make a world trip in one day.

Burgers' Zoo has put a lot of effort into recreating the natural habitats of the animals and that is exactly what this zoo makes so great.
