Pumping station

Cruquius - In the 19th century the Haarlemmermeer polder was build. De Cruquius is one out of three steam powered pumping stations that was used to drain and keep the water outside the dykes.

The Cruquius has an unusual design. It was being used until 1933. Today it's a museum.
