Marker Wadden archipelago at Lake Markermeer

Lelystad - The Marker Wadden archipelago is located north of Lelystad. The five islands in the Markermeer are 220 hectares in size and have been created by spraying sand and silt. The new nature reserve has a great attraction for birds. The water around the islands is shallow and therefore somewhat warmer. Besides enjoying nature you can walk (12 kilometers in total), go for a swim or enjoy the sandy beach from where you can see the contours of Enkhuizen and Lelystad at the horizon.
