Wadlopen In early 2010, the British newspaper the Sunday Times placed the 32 km long North Sea beach of Terscheling in its Top 20 of Hottest European beaches . Dark Sky Park 'De Boschplaat'

The Boschplaat on the east side of Terschelling was once a separate island. It was attached to Terschelling in the early 1900s by the construction of a drift dike. Over time, a beautiful nature area has been created with dunes, salt marshes, salt marshes and mudflats. In the spring and early summer, the area has limited access to protect the birds in the area. Nowadays the Boschplaat is also a 'Dark Sky Park'. This means that visitors are welcome at night to experience the darkness and see the starry sky.
