Transformation of a city

Tilburg - Until the 1960s, many residents of Tilburg worked in the textile industry. Today, the city is undergoing an unprecedented transformation and there are many nice and surprising places to be found. Time for a closer acquaintance!

Railway zone

The area around Tilburg central station has been transformed into a relaxed place. The former locomotive workshop, the LocHal, now houses the city-library that was nominated as the best library in the world in 2019.
In the Wandering (Dwaal) area, wall texts and names of buildings remind us of Tilburg's rich textile past. Here you will find a shopping area.

Museums

Do you want to know more about Tilburg's past? Then visit the Textile Museum. The museum is (of course) housed in a former textile factory.
Do you go for modern art? Then you can visit museum De Pont, which is housed in a former wool spinning mill.
Doloris is of a completely different order. You will gain a special experience in this art maze.

De Korte Heuvel: "The Short Hill"

The name may be short, but once you step inside, a visit is by no means short! The Korte Heuvel is the most famous café street in Tilburg. Here you can enjoy a beer or a Schrobbelèr, a Tilburg herb bitter, until late in the morning.
