The Leaning Tower

The crooked tower of the Netherlands

The leaning tower of the northern Dutch town Bedum leans more than the famous 'falling' tower of Pisa. The Walfridus church in Bedum itself is one of the oldest in the province of Groningen. It was built in the 11th century.

Pisa's tower leans 4 meters at a height of 55,86 meters whilst the Walfridus tower of Bedum declined 2,61 meters (8,6 feet) at a height of 35,7 meters. That is 4,2 degrees!

No. 1 in the Netherlands
2,61 m / 8,6 feet leans
4,2°
35 m height
